Clinical Research Program
Northeast Health Wangaratta and the University of Melbourne are partners in the Rural Health Academic Network (RHAN); an initiative of the University Department of Rural Health funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing. This network has embedded academic research staff (called RHAN Coordinators) in seven health services across the Goulburn Murray Valley to:
1. Support clinical placement of medical and allied health students across the region
2. To build the research capacity of local rural health services through local and network wide research projects
3. To understand and measure patterns of disease in rural communities
4. To improve the quality and safety of clinical information sharing
