Since the inaugural WAW Latipsoh Day in 2002, the appeal has raised over $600,000 for hospitals throughout North East Victoria and Southern New South Wales including Northeast Health Wangaratta.
2009 Latipsoh Day activities kick off from the 14th of August in Albury. The launch will be a business luncheon at the Commercial Club. This is not the eighth year of the Latipsoh Day Appeal, which supports our local hospitals, health services and bush nursing centres in our region. Latipsoh stands for hospital spelt backwards. It's all about giving back to community hospitals. Last year NHW raised more than $18,000 through this appeal and we hope to maintain this level in 2009.
This year funds raised by NHW will be used to purchase clinical equipment for the Operating Theatre and will include anaesthetic monitors, a double cuff tourniquet and vital sign monitors. This specialised equipment will aid and improve monitoring and treatment of our patients for high risk procedures. NHW will again be holding our Golf Day on Sunday 30th of August at Jubilee Golf Club as well as selling raffle tickets in the front foyer of the hospital for petrol vouchers (1st prize $1,500 of fuel, 2nd prize $1,000 of fuel, 3rd prize $500 of fuel), donation envelope mailout, collecting general donations and a range of Latipsoh merchandise will also be available.
